LODGES

ESQUEL & TREVELIN

This premium destination is located in Central Patagonia, away from the crowded locations.  A new uncharted area near Esquel town covering Alerces National Park, Rio Grande, Cholila, and Corcovado area where fishing is world renown.

This area is a must-do destination that you won’t want to miss given its various high-quality environments all within the same area.  Futaleufú River or Río Grande: the most productive river in the area, it begins in Alerce National Park and flows across the border into Chile, where it is best known for its world famous whitewater. On the Argentine side of the border it is called Rio Grande, the literal translation of the name Futaleufú.  In the Cholila area known as the former home of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, we find the Carrileufu River, the Tigre River, and the Pedregoso stream. It is also home to the Cholila, Lezana and Mosquito lakes.

Our excellent accomodations, the food,  our wines, the spa and several non anglers activities makes this location a unique hidden gem  for couples groups.

We are passionate about fishing. We live in an area surrounded by lakes, rivers, and streams that feel like home. We are part of a select group that has been able to combine work with passion to the point where the former begins to fade.

There are many rivers suitable for fishing in Los Alerces National Park, among them the Rivadavia, Arrayanes, Spring Creek de Doña Rosa, Frey, Desaguadero and Carrileufu.
Our favorite is the Rivadavia River, a breathtaking 6-mile stretch of water known by locals as “the fishing university,” as it requires expertise in dry and nymph fishing in order to be successful. We float this river from Rivadavia Lake to Lago Verde.

The fishing is a mix of dry flies, streamers, and nymph fishing. We fish from the boat in the headwaters and wade in the pools found downriver.

The Rivadavia River has a spring tributary called Spring Creek de Doña Rosa where one can find rainbow and brown trout between 18 and 24 inches in length.
